Spanish forward could make Serie A switch.
Fiorentina could rival Tottenham for Barcelona striker David Villa this summer, with Sky Sports understanding that the Spaniard would also welcome a move to Serie A.
Spurs have been strongly linked with the 31-year-old for much of the summer as they look to upgrade on their current strike force of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe, with Villa believed to be a top target as well as the likes of Leandro Damiao and Jackson Martinez.
However, Fiorentina are also in need of a new striker, with the strong possibility that Stevan Jovetic will be leaving the club for Chelsea, Arsenal or Juventus this summer, and Villa now seems to be in favour of a move to Italy over England.
The former Valencia striker is still regarded as a world class finisher, and there have been suggestions that Barcelona want to keep him, despite his frustration at his increasing role as a squad player at the Nou Camp, and the £48million arrival of Brazilian star Neymar.
Fiorentina have also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City rejects Fernando Torres and Edin Dzeko, as they look to build on a decent season and finish in the top four.
