Goodison Park boss looking to secure instant reunion with former Latics charges.
Roberto Martinez is apparently in talks with his former Wigan Athletic employers as he presses ahead with a move to bring in Latics striker Arouna Kone. Everton are also looking to bring in out of contract Antolin Alcaraz according to the Daily Express.
DW Stadium chairman Dave Whelan has previously stated that Martinez would have to make significant offers to land any of his former Wigan Athletic charges but it appears that the Championship side would be powerless to prevent either of the named players from moving to Goodison Park.
Ivory Coast forward Kone impressed last term, netting a dozen goals for Wigan, and is now said to be available for as little as £6.5m, the fee required to trigger the former Levante striker’s release clause.
There has been a great deal of speculation over the possible sales of Everton stars Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines but it seems Martinez is hoping to bring in a number of additions this summer whilst no doubting attempting to keep hold of the Toffees prized assets.
