Spanish and German clubs eye Uruguayan ace.
The agent of Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez has claimed that his client is being watched by both Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Sky Sports reports.
The 22-year-old joined up with the Saints last summer from Italian side Bologna for a fee of £12 million, but failed to live up to the hype surrounding his signature by managing just five goals in 26 appearances.
Previously AC Milan and Fiorentina had been linked with taking him back to Serie A, but his agent, Pablo Betancourt, has claimed that now Spanish and German sides are joining the queue to end his time in Southampton prematurely.
Betancourt told South American radio station Radio Mana Sport: “[Gaston] is currently followed by Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. At the moment, it is very difficult for him to come back to Italy.”
Ramirez is currently in Brazil with the Uruguayan national side as part of the squad competing in the Confederations Cup but has played a bit part role so far. He began the first half of the 2-1 defeat to Spain and missed out completely in the 2-1 victory over Nigeria. Uruguay will take on Brazil in the semi final tonight and Ramirez will be hoping to be included from the start.
