Dutch ace won’t go wanting for long.
The agent of FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer has claimed that his client has a number of options on the table this summer, Sky Sports reports.
The 23-year-old was reportedly close to joining Everton in the January transfer window but that move failed to materialise. However, the Toffees are still thought to be interested in bringing him to Goodison Park but they may now face renewed competition from a host of clubs across Europe and, bizarrely enough, Norwich City.
The Canaries were believed to be close to landing his signature over the weekend and the Dutch international’s agent, Rob Jansen, said: “There are actually several offers for Fer.”
Norwich have also now been linked with a second raid on the Eredivise with Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld also thought to be in their cross hairs.
Fer began his career with rivals Feyenoord in 2007 and quickly established himself in the side as well as winning 31-caps for the under-21 national team.
Since his move to Twente in 2011 he has made 77 appearances and scored 21 goals, and he has largely been expected to move on again this year to go and test himself in a bigger league with England thought to be his most likely destination.
