Italian giants are keen to sign in-demand Dane ahead of the Reds.
AC Milan are said to be preparing an offer for coveted Ajax midfield player Christian Eriksen, according to reports on talkSPORT.co.uk.
The highly rated young Denmark international has been attracting interest from Premier League giants Liverpool, who have been monitoring the playmaker since the beginning of last season with a view to bringing the 21-year-old to Anfield when the summer transfer window reopened at the beginning of this month.
However, as yet the Reds have still to submit a formal offer with the Eredivisie champions for their star man, whose contract at the Amsterdam ArenA runs until June 30 2014.
And now in light of interest in the player from the Rossoneri, Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers may have to move quickly if he still wishes to land Eriksen, who has been with the Dutch side for his whole career to date, netting 30 goals in total in his 156 appearances for Ajax since making his debut for the club in January 2010.
The Dane has already turned down the opportunity to join Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen so far this summer, however, it now appears as though the twinkle-toed attacking midfield creator will soon have a straight choice to make between moving to either San Siro or Anfield next season.
