San Siro side keen on Saints midfielder.
Inter Milan have reportedly entered talks with Southampton ahead of a move to sign Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Ramirez according to the Daily Mirror.
The 22 year old moved to the South Coast last August in a £12m switch from Serie A side Bologna and enjoyed a relatively successful first season in the English top tier during which he scored five goals in 20 starts for the Saints.
A move back to Serie A could tempt the attacking midfielder and if a firm offer is made by San Siro giants Inter Milan then there is perhaps a very good chance Ramirez will look to force through a deal.
The Nerazzurri have had a few lean years but under new boss Walter Mazzarri there is every chance that the club’s star will rise again.
Southampton have spent well thus far this summer, bringing in Dejan Lovren and Victor Wanyama from Lyon and Celtic respectively.
Perhaps tellingly Ramirez is yet to return to Southampton for pre-season action.
