Brazilian ace won’t be joining Spurs this summer.
Young Santos forward Neilton has played down talk of a summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports reports.
The 19-year-old has only recently broke into the Santos first team and has already been described as the ‘new Neymar’ as he can play on either wing or as a central striker.
His versatility has already attracted some significant interest from clubs across Europe with Spurs said to have already agreed a £7 million fee for the player.
However, he has refused to be drawn in on the speculation and has instead insisted that he is solely focussed on turning out for his current club.
“Nothing has come in. I saw the news and I have a contract with Santos until next year,” Neilton told Brazilian news source UOL.
And furthermore, Santos’ vice-president Odilio Rodrigues also revealed that the club are looking to extent his current deal beyond 2014.
“There are already talks to renew his contract,” he also told UOL.
“They have started and we have scheduled a meeting already.
“We intend to extend his contract, we will talk with his agent and see if we can find something that is good for him and for Santos.”
Neilton made his debut for the famous Brazilian club earlier in the year and went on to bag four goals in only 10 appearances.
