Hammers teammate believes striker can be as good as the best.
West Ham United midfielder Joe Cole has said that he believes the club’s new striker Andy Carroll can be as good as Didier Drogba, the Daily Mail reports.
Former England international Cole has previously lined up alongside both players, having spent several years at Chelsea with the Ivorian international before teaming up with Carroll at Liverpool and at Upton Park last season – where the ex-Newcastle striker has returned following a £15 million summer move.
And Cole, who endured a difficult time on Merseyside, has outlined the similarities between the two having now seen them both close up, and he now believes the Englishman has the potential to match, and even surpass the form so frequently displayed by his former Chelsea colleague.
“I played with him (Carroll) at Liverpool and West Ham and the player that is at West Ham is full of confidence, energy and aggression, and everyone can see what a good player he is,” Cole said.
“He had a difficult time at Liverpool but the West Ham Andy Carroll is a real handful and a top player. he’ll be looking at getting himself in the England squad now.
“He can be anything he wants to be. You can look at a Drogba, that’s the level he can get to.”
