Midfielder’s transfer saga now becomes a family affair. The transfer saga surrounding Gareth Bale took an even more unexpected twist this week as the player’s parents were spotted heading into a meeting with chairman Daniel Levy, according to The Sun.
Bale has been the subject of a £95 million bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer but so far the club have refused to sell. However, Bale and his representatives met with Levy upon his return from Hong Kong to underline just how much he wants to move on this summer.
And now apparently Bale’s parents are getting in on the act after they were spotted heading into a meeting with the Spurs chairman earlier this week.
“I couldn’t believe it when the Bales arrived at the training ground. God knows what they said to Mr Levy,” an anonymous source at the club said.
It is a similar twist that befell the saga that surrounded Edinson Cavani’s exit from Napoli last month. Both parents spoke independently to the press suggesting that their son would join either Real Madrid or Chelsea before the September deadline.
Cavani, of course, joined Paris Saint Germain instead.
Bale has apparently made it clear that he wants to join the Spanish giants, though it’s not yet known what Mr and Mrs Bale make of the whole situation.
