White Hart Lane side welcome in fourth summer signing.
Tottenham have reportedly agreed an £8m deal to sign Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue according to the Metro.
The White Hart Lane side have tracked the 25 year old for some time, as have local rivals Arsenal, and Andre Villas-Boas has sealed a deal to bring in the defensive midfielder to add further strength in depth to his Spurs squad.
Capoue had held talks with newly promoted Cardiff City as well as La Liga side Atletico Madrid but Toulouse president Olivier Sadran has confirmed that Tottenham have won the race to sign Capoue.
Villas-Boas now has a myriad of options in the central midfield area having brought in Paulinho in a £17m deal earlier this summer to ply his trade with the likes of Moussa Dembele, Sandro and Lewis Holtby.
Back up options however may well be on their way out with QPR & West Ham both pursuing veteran Scott Parker, while Tom Huddlestone & Jake Livermore and Sunderland and Fulham targets respectively.
Capoue is due in London for a medical this week.
The rangy midfielder has made a total of 194 appearances for Toulouse and has five national team caps to his name.
