Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Anzhi Makhachkala forward Willian following the side sensational U-turn last night according to the East London Guardian.

Anzhi’s owner Suleyman Kerimov has remarkably put a number of the club’s star players up for sale in a desperate attempt to try change the way he is running the club.

Willian only completed his move from Shakhtar Donetsk to the Russian club last January for £30million, amid interest from a host of clubs around Europe. It is thought clubs could not find the funds the Ukrainian clubs desired, except for Kerimov’s Anzhi who stepped up to the plate with his £30million offer.

It is believed Daniel Levy could land the 24 year-old Brazil international for just £20million due to his employers current state.

Although, in my opinion, Spurs making a move for the left winger signals an almost guaranteed exit for Gareth Bale, especially as the Premier League club have already managed to bring in Nacer Chadli, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho this summer.

Tottenham director Sir Keith Mills has told the Evening Standard : “if a player is desperate to leave, it’s very difficult to force him to stay. We’ve seen it in other clubs. Even if he has a contract, you can’t force somebody to play for you.”

Then AS [a Spanish newspaper] quoted Jonathan Barnett, Gareth Bale’s agent, saying his client may refuse to go to training in order to force through his move Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer. But Andre Villas-Boas is reluctant to sell his best player.
