Sir Keith Mills admits club can do little prevent move to Real Madrid.
Tottenham Director Sir Keith Mills has expressed his belief that there is little the club can do should Gareth Bale insist on leaving the club according to The London Evening Standard.
Speculation regarding Bale’s future has swirled in recent weeks after Madrid reportedly made an offer of £85 million.
The deal was flatly rejected by Spurs with club chairman Daniel Levy insisting the player is not for sale.
The Tottenham chairman is a famously tough negotiator and is unlikely to be impressed with the Mills’ words.
But Spurs know that it will be difficult to hold on to their prized asset if he is indeed determined to leave the club.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti remained silent on the subject this week after previously coming in for criticism from Tottenham manager Andre Vilas-Boas.
Ancelotti insisted that he did not wish to anger Vilas-Boas any further and so would not be making a comment on the matter.
Reports from Spain in recent days had suggested that Vilas-Boas instructed Bale to stay away from the training ground but that now appears to have been unfounded.
Speculation regarding a move away from White Hart Lane for Bale increased though when the club removed his image from their official Twitter feed.
Spurs insist the move was unrelated but it will have done nothing to dampen the rumours over an imminent move.
