Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has admitted his interest in reuniting with Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe, who appears poised to leave White Hart Lane this summer with the recent arrival of Roberto Soldado from Valencia according to the London Evening Standard.

A striker is definitely who Redknapp wishes to sign after losing Loic Remy on loan to Newcastle United, telling reporters : “I’d love to have Jermain. We made an enquiry but at the moment he’s not available. We’re nowhere near anything. There is a small chance of it happening.”

Even with his modesty, Redknapp did admit a deal for West Ham target Duvan Zapata is on the cards, but also stated “he may go elsewhere”.

Before the end of the transfer window it is believe the Hoops will continue their summer clear out by getting rid of Stephane Mbia, Samba Diakite and Anton Ferdinand, yet the latest player to be linked with a move away is not any of those three. Instead, it is Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin who has been linked with a move to Fulham to pair up with QPR loanee Adel Taarabt who moved to Craven Cottage earlier this week.

The R’s will be reluctant to sell yet another star player which they desperately wish to keep in order to help fight for one of the promotion spots from the Championship, to the Premier League. Especially as the Hoops’ owner Tony Fernandes has admitted Faurlin is his favourite R’s player – hoping he gets back to his previous form.
