Versatile midfielder set to arrive at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham look set to plug some of the holes in their squad with the signing of Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue according to The Daily Mail.
The club look set to confirm the signing of Capoue in the coming days. The 6ft 2ins midfielder prefers to play just in front of the back four but is also adept at filling in at centre back.
Spurs have preparing for the new season with only one fit recognised centre-back. The club recently sold Steven Caulker to Cardiff City while Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul continue to recover from injury.
That has seen the side putting out a makeshift centre-back pairing in recent matches, notably against French side Monaco were the team were torn apart.
That did not fail to escape the attention of manager Andre Vilas-Boas who has since made it one of his priorities to rectify the situation.
The arrival of Capoue looks set to spell the end of Scott Parker’s White Hart Lane career. He is likely to be told he is surplus to requirements, with QPR thought to be interested in the England international.
But it remains to be seen whether Parker would be willing to drop down a division as we enter a World Cup year.
