Spanish side Real Sociedad are reportedly lining up a move to sign Queens Park Rangers midfielder Esteban Granero, according to talkSPORT.

The midfielder joined QPR from Real Madrid last season and impressed before he was hit by a series of injuries, and manager Harry Redknapp will allow him to leave this summer in order to cut down the clubs wage bill. Real Sociedad are considering making a move for the midfield maestro as they look to add some quality before their Champions League campaign begins.

When the Hoops were relegated, it signalled a mass exodus at the club, with big name stars such as Christopher Samba and Loic Remy leaving the club, with many to follow, the likes of Stephane Mbia, Modibo Diakite and Joey Barton have all been linked with moves away this summer. Granero is keen to leave the Championship side and is open to offers.

Premier League side Swansea also expressed an interest to sign the 26-year old earlier in the summer, but have no followed up their initial interest. Manager Michael Laudrup is familiar with the player and what he could bring to the side due to their time together at Getafe, and Granero was open to a move to the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans failed to sign Granero, instead opting to bring in the likes of Jose Canas and Alex Pozuelo into the squad at the club. Having added enough midfielders this summer, Laudrup would like to bring in one more forward this summer as they prep themselves for a Europa League run.
