Tottenham Hotspur will make a move for highly rated Blackpool midfield player Tom Ince as soon as Gareth Bale’s word-record transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid is confirmed next week, according to reports in the Sunday Sun.
The north London club are currently still in negotiations with los Blancos over the sale of their star man, with chairman Daniel Levy having met his counterpart from the Santiago Bernabeu in Miami last week for face-to-face talks.
And, despite still no deal having been agreed for the Wales international’s departure from White Hart Lane, Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas is understood to still be preparing for next season without the 24-year-old.
The Portuguese has already drawn up a short list of possible replacements for last season’s double Footballer of the Year, with the seasiders’ England Under-21 international said to be Villas-Boas’s number one target this summer.
Ince has been with the Championship outfit since August 2011, when he arrived at Blackpool from Merseyside giants Liverpool on a two-year deal.
And in the intervening two-year period, the 21-year-old has proved himself to be one of the most promising wide men outside of the Premier League, scoring 27 goals in his 89 appearances for the club.
Consequently, Spurs hope that an offer of £8 million for the exciting winger will be enough to persuade Blackpool to sell their star man.
