News broke on Monday morning that Blackburn Rovers striker DJ Campbell had been arrested for allegations that he had been involved in a match fixing incident that too place in a game against Ipswich Town.

Campbell is just one of six players that have been taken in for questioning for offences such as picking up bookings rather than scoring or conceding goals.

The 32-year-old striker is by far the most recognisable face of the group taken in having played in the Premier League with the likes of Birmingham, QPR and Blackpool.

And the incident in question revolving around Campbell is a reckless and needless tackle during last week’s encounter with Ipswich. Campbell flew in on Town full-back Aaron Cresswell in the 25th minute. Blackburn went on to lose 3-1.

As stated by the commentator on the video, the tackle was Campbell’s second bad challenge inside the first half an hour.
