Argentine is not happy at the North London club according to his father.
Tottenham striker Erik Lamela is set to leave White Hart Lane according to the Metro.
The £30m signing has struggled for form since moving to North London last summer and the youngster’s father has confirmed that the former AS Roma man is keen to move on, stating;
‘Erik is not happy and wants to go back to Italy,’ he told the Italian media.
‘He has been linked with Lazio, but I don’t know anything about this. Could he re-join Roma? I don’t know.’
Whether Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is willing to allow such an exit is another matter and one imagines that any potential departure is entirely dependent on how much any interested party is willing to bid for the 21 year old.
Inter Milan are known to be interested in the Argentine but a move back to the Stadio Olimpico seems less likely given that boss Rudi Garcia appears to be managing just fine with Lamela.
The youngster has managed to score just once in 17 appearances in all competitions this term.
