Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for his first victory in charge of the Bluebirds and has been boosted by the possible return of winger Craig Noone for the visit of Villa, even though he is still not 100% fit.
Noone was left on the bench for the Welsh derby against Swansea on Saturday, but is expected to play a bigger role on Tuesday.
Villa manager Paul Lambert will be hoping for some good news on the injury front too as centre back Ron Vlaar could be in line to return from a hamstring injury.
