Magpies boss Alan Pardew is ready to offer £15m for the Villa Park duo who he feels will strengthen his St James’ Park squad.
Paul Lambert would be loathed to lose the pair but given his side’s very poor campaign there is every chance a number of his squad could be open to summer exits.
Pardew will hope that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is ready to hand him a significant transfer fund boost as he sets about improving his squad.
The loss of Yohan Cabaye in the January transfer window led to an alarming drop in form that has left Pardew clinging to his managerial post and as such will demand investment in his side this summer.
