Danes failed to qualify for Brazil 2014.
It must be bad enough just having to miss out on this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals, let alone having to be reminded of the fact in an interview on TV in front of the watching world, which is exactly the fate that befell Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen on Sunday.

The diminutive Denmark international was being interviewed after the north London club had beaten Aston Villa 3-0 in their final Premier League games of the season at White Hart Lane.
“Did it feel like the holidays were about to begin, even though you’re going to the World Cup?” asked the reporter.
To which Eriksen replied: “Yeah … I’m not going to the World Cup”!
Ouch ….
