Chairman Daniel Levy handed £110m to Villas-Boas to invest in the Tottenham squad last summer and the north London side actually fell further behind in the race for a Champions League berth and as such he may not be so keen to splash the cash again.

Roberto Soldado

Cost £26m but scored just six goals in 28 Premier League appearances and that goal-scoring record is all the more unacceptable when you consider four of those were from the penalty-spot.

Has wholly failed to adjust to life in the Premier League and has looked out of his depth and off the pace, thankfully Emmanuel Adebayor picked up the goal-scoring baton in the second half of the campaign.

The Spaniard should be sold immediately, even at a loss.
