Lloris commits his future to the club.

There is some good news for Tottenham Hotspur as goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year deal.

This will come as a relief to many Spurs fans as there were wide reports that the 27-year-old was being touted by a number of top European sides.

However, despite their lack of Champions League football Lloris is happy at White Hart Lane and is pleased to have signed this new contract with the club.

“I spoke with the Chairman and I know the Club is as ambitious as ever,” the France captain told the Tottenham website.

“It’s very important to feel at home at a club and for my family to feel well. I enjoy a great relationship with the Club and the fans. The arrival of Mauricio Pochettino is important as well. I have a good feeling with him. He is also ambitious.

“Everything is clear in my head and if I’ve signed a new contract it’s because I trust the Club and I’m sure we will progress in a positive way.”

The North Londoners are currently undergoing a transition period since the appointment of Pochettino as their new manager from Southampton.

The Argentine will be expected to guide the club back to the top tier of European football and having Lloris between the sticks will be a great bonus in that effort.
