Loftus Road side chase Marseille man.
QPR have tabled a £5.5m bid for experienced French midfielder Mathieu Valbuena according to the Metro.
The Loftus Road side have matched an offer made by Dynamo Moscow but with the player’s agent ruling out any possible move to Russia it appears Harry Redknapp may well be set for another impressive summer signing.
Redknapp has already secured deals to sign defensive pair Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker and now hopes to sign Marseille battler Valbuena.
The pint sized midfielder is a very talented performer who enjoyed a strong showing at the World Cup finals so one would have to imagine other Premier League sides would take a keen interest in acquiring the 29 year old.
Valbuena has spent eight years at Marseille and appears set for a new challenge and such a high-profile signing could further aid QPR’s push to prevent an instant return to the Championship.
The speedy playmaker can play in either a central or wide-midfield role and is well known for his technical ability and his ability to fire in long distance screamers.
