Arsenal make shock approach to sign vice-captain Daniel Agger
The defender has emerged as a surprise transfer target for the Gunners as they look for a replacement for skipper Thomas Vermaelen.
The Belgian has been strongly linked with a move to either Barca or Manchester United this summer and the Daily Star says that Arsene Wenger sees Agger as the ideal alternative.
The Denmark international is likely to be open to a transfer as well having fallen down the pecking order under Rodgers in recent times.
