Barcelona were in contact with Luis Suarez well before the 2014 World Cup
The Catalans president Josep Bartomeu has confirmed that the club were in talks with Suarez long before the World Cup in Brazil started.
The 27-year-old had previously stated he would not be leaving Merseyside, but these revelations show that the Uruguayan had thoughts of departure long ago.
“When we approached Suarez, it was before the World Cup. We told him that he had the right age. He had the experience,” Bartomeu was quoted by the Mirror.
