England Under-21 international commits future to Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at White Hart Lane.

The 21-year-old is now tied to the North London club until June 2019.

Kane made his senior debut for Spurs back in August 2011, but he did not truly break into the first-team picture until the back end of last season.

After being promoted from the development squad by former head coach Tim Sherwood, Kane started Tottenham’s last six Premier League games in the 2013-14 campaign, netting three goals in the process.

In total, Kane has scored five times in 26 official Spurs appearances.

He has also bagged goals during loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall and Leicester City, but he failed to get on the scoresheet during a brief stint at Norwich City in the 2012-13 season.

Kane appears to be Tottenham’s third choice frontman, behind Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado.

However, he is likely to get plenty of game time, with Spurs having a busy schedule due to their involvement in the Europa League.
