Check in to Crystal Palace vs West Ham United

Managerless Crystal Palace are hoping to land Sunderland youngster Connor Wickham according to the Sunday Mirror.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish hopes to agree a fee for the 21 year old Black Cats star and is ready to spend £8m to win the race for the former Ipswich Town man.

Tony Pulis surprisingly left the South London side earlier in the week and the departure is said to have revolved around Parish and the Welsh boss disagreeing on possible transfer targets so one may assume that Wickham was one player the former Stoke City manager didn’t fancy bringing in, hence the apparent falling out between the pair.

Wickham played a key role in helping Sunderland complete a great escape last term with the Stadium of Light side having looked a shoe-in for relegation.

The lanky forward netted five goals in ten Premier League starts but is said to be concerned about his chances of being a regular starter this season.
