Tottenham look set to land Sevilla centre-back Federico Fazio with the La Liga club’s sporting director confirming that the north London side had triggered his release clause with an £8m bid according to the London Evening Standard.
White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino will look to his fellow countryman to solidify the Spurs defence, with Michael Dawson set to move to Hull City, with moves to capture Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio falling through.
27 year old Fazio is all set to move to the Premier League side with sporting director Monchi claiming his side can not compete with Tottenham’s wage offer;
“It seems that Tottenham is willing to pay the [release] clause,

“We tried to renew him since last season but the distances were huge even if we were hoping to make a new deal.”
Buenos Aires born Fazio moved to the Andalusian outfit in 2007 and helped Sevilla to a Europa League success last season and has made a total of 179 appearances for the Spanish side.
