Though Mourinho has brought in the aforementioned Remy as well as re-signing Didier Drogba and investing £32m in Spanish international Diego Costa the west London side also bid farewell to Romelu Lukaku, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o so there is perhaps scope for another striker signing.
Destro started just 14 Serie A fixtures last term he still finished the season as AS Roma’s leading goal-scorer having plundered 13 goals and narrowly missed out on a spot in Cesare Prandelli’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
Chelsea have bagged 11 goals in their opening three Premier League fixtures, with Costa scoring four times already, so one might question the need for another attacking addition this summer.
