Friendlies are normally low contact football matches where players rarely go in for 50/50 tackles for fear of injuring someone unnecessarily. Everton’s Darron Gibson clearly doesn’t feel that way after this awful tackle on Oman’s Eid Mohammed in Wednesday night’s friendly.
Luckily for Mohammed, he wasn’t seriously injured and amazingly, Gibson wasn’t even sent off The Irishman was given just a yellow card for a two footed lunge that wrapped around the Oman number eight’s standing leg.
He was very lucky not to be dismissed for a tackle that just gets worse and worse every time you watch it.
