4) Manchester City far from convincing
Although the spotlight was largely on Arsenal’s failings in yesterday’s game, Manchester City may have some cause to be concerned as well, as they failed to take advantage of the Gunners’ weaknesses. The visitors were pegged back for much of the first half as their own defence continued to look suspect, though they did score a good goal on a breakaway. Still, with Arsenal’s back four all at sea, City may feel their immense attacking players should have caused the home side more problems.
This result makes it just one point from their last two games, which is not exactly title-winning form. Although City started badly last year and went on to win the league, there is little evidence that they have made the sufficient improvements needed to their team, as they look possibly like going stale while others have strengthened and moved forward.
