The Egyptian winger joined the club from Swiss side FC Basel during the January transfer window, but has so far had a limited impact at Stamford Bridge, where he has mostly featured from the bench.

Having made just ten appearances last term, he has featured just once this time around and CaughtOffside understands that rumours close to the club are suggesting that he is ready to move on already.

Milan are thought to be looking for more low cost additions to their squad as new coach Pippo Inzaghi hopes to continue their revival.

The Serie A side are believed to be keen on snapping the 22-year-old up on loan for the remainder of the campaign when the transfer window re-opens in the new year, with the view of making the deal permanent at the end of the season if all parties can agree.
