Brazilian speedster Robinho was one of the first truly big money purchases by the new look Manchester City, brought in from Real Madrid for £33m. He scored 11 goals in his first 18 games, scoring a further four goals throughout the season.
The following season he didn’t score a single goal in the league however, scoring just once in the FA Cup against Scunthorpe. He was soon sent back to Brazil on loan to Santos.
