Liverpool fans will be hoping to see him back for the midweek fixture against Swiss side Basel, as he has been sorely missed and the English side have looked fairly one dimensional without him.
The Premier League side narrowly won their first Champions League game at Anfield against minnows Ludogorets Razgrad thanks to a goal from Mario Balotelli and a late spot-kick from Steven Gerrad.
