Anfield side chase Anderlecht hot-shot.
Liverpool reportedly had scouts in attendance in Brussels on Wednesday night to see Anderlecht youngster Aleksandar Mitrovic in action according to CalcioMercato.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is well known for his willingness to trust to youth and the summer acquitions of Emre Can, Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi are a sign of a club planning for the long term.
Liverpool are likely to be one of many sides interested in Mitrovic, who is considered one of the hottest young prospects in Europen football, with the Serbian scoring regularly since moving to Belgium in August 2013.
Mitrovic finished last term as the club’s top scorer as Anderlecht secured the domestic title and has wasted no time in continuing that great run of form, racking up eight goals already this term.
Rodgers may well sorely miss Luis Suarez and thus far new signings Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli are yet to deliver the goods and as such a move for a fresh striking option is perhaps wise though a move for a more experienced addition may be wiser still.
