Brendan Rodgers is known to be keen on the 28 year old and by all accounts the La Liga side need to raise funds and the former Real Madrid man has openly spoken of the Anfield side’s interest in his services, stating;
‘I’ve not had a call from anyone at Liverpool yet,’ he told AS.
‘Espanyol are like most Spanish clubs – they need money – and if my departure happens, it’s because Espanyol needs the money.
‘When the bids happen, if it happens, we will value it and decide what happens.’
Rodgers will not have been all that impressed by the efforts of current first choice keeper Simon Mignolet and have been linked with an £8m bid for Casilla.
Liverpool struggled at the back last term and things haven’t improved on that front in 2014/15 with Belgian international Mignolet looking less than dominant between the sticks.
