Reds linked with World Cup star to replace Mignolet.
Liverpool could make a move for Malaga goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa this January as an alternative to former Barcelona star Victor Valdes, according to Fichajes.net.
The Reds are in the market for a new signing between the sticks as Brendan Rodgers remains unconvinced by the performances of Simon Mignolet, who was signed from Sunderland last season.
This has seen the club linked with a move to snap up free agent Valdes in the coming months, though it now looks increasingly as though this deal will not materialise.
Ochoa has been on the radar of several top clubs in the past, having impressed greatly for the Mexican national team at this summer’s World Cup with some eye-catching performances and goalkeeping heroics.
However, he has not managed to establish himself as number one at Malaga this season, and may already be ready to quit the club despite only joining them this summer as he completed a free transfer to the club from French side Ajaccio.
Liverpool will be ready to pounce if he is available, with Ochoa likely to provide a better option in goal than Mignolet at the moment, with the Belgian looking far from his best at Anfield.
