Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings From Shoddy 2-1 Loss To Stoke City: Several Big Players, Including Captain Younes Kaboul, Verging On Embarrassing

Posted by

AM: Christian Eriksen – 5/10

Pretty anonymous in the first half, before being hauled off at the interval, when Erik Lamela came on.

AM: Nacer Chadli – 7/10

Scored a superb volleyed goal which gave Spurs a hint of hope on 77 minutes. The Belgian international was Tottenham’s best player and he provided an excellent cross for Adebayor in stoppage time, but the former Arsenal frontman headed wide.

ST: Harry Kane – 6/10

Worked his socks off, but looked rather lost without a second striker to support him, until Adebayor’s introduction midway through the second half.

Subs:

Erik Lamela – 6/10

Lamela did more during his 45-minute appearance than Eriksen did in his. However, the Argentine, who forced Asmir Begovic to make an excellent save from a free-kick, was still average at best.

Mousa Dembele – 6/10

Much livelier than Capoue. Dembele really should be starting in the Premier League.

Emmanuel Adebayor – 5/10

Clearly playing within himself. Probably needs a January move to motivate him for one of his rare six-month hot spells.
