Reds considering move for youngster Martin Montoya.
Liverpool could move for Barcelona right back Matin Montoya in the January transfer window, report talkSPORT, with the young Spaniard apparently the latest player to be told that he has no future at the club by manager Luis Enrique, who is looking to overhaul the Nou Camp squad.
The 23 year-old has lived in the shadow of first choice Dani Alves ever since he broke through into the first team picture in Catalonia – and the fact that Alves is yet to sign a new deal at the club and could well leave in January does not seem to mean that Montoya is likely to be given his chance to impress.
The report suggests that Liverpool are long term admirers of Montoya and could move for him in January, with current first choice Glen Johnson looking unlikely to sign a new contract at the club and young Spaniard Javier Manquillo only on loan from Atletico Madrid.
They face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan, however, with Walter Mazzarri’s underachieving side also seemingly keen on signing Montoya – although that could depend on whether the former Napoli manager makes it to January with his job in tact as Inter continue to flounder.
