Wayne Rooney says he will never retire from international football
After winning his 100th cap for England and scoring his 44th goal in the 3-1 win over Slovenia, Rooney has pledged his future to the nation.
Despite the fact Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard have all retired from Three Lions duty in the past year, the 29-year-old says he will never do the same.
“A lot of the players I have played with other the last 10 years have – Steven, Frank, Ashley, Rio. They all retired. But me? No, I don’t think so,” Rooney was quoted by the Telegraph.
