Petr Cech is prepared to sit on Chelsea’s bench until the summer as he waits for a club who can offer him regular first team football, reports the London Evening Standard.

The 32 year old has started just four games this season since Thibaut Courtois was brought back from his three year loan at Atletico Madrid and is expected to be back on the bench tonight against Schalke despite starting the Blues’ last two Champions League group games.

Cech has cut a frustrated figure on the bench with Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho confirming the Chelsea legend has been affected by the situation.

Arsenal, Real Madrid and PSG have all sounded out the the Czech international but it now appears Besiktas are leading the pack with the Turkish giants believing their special partnership with the west Londoners puts them in pole position.

“We are working together with Chelsea to sign a player. We have not held talks yet however, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with Besiktas,” said club president Fikret Orman. “If Cech does become available I would support such a move.”

Besiktas claim they have agreed a deal to sign an unnamed Chelsea star in January, could Cech be joining one of him team-mates in Turkey next season?
