Liverpool Left Disappointed As Real Madrid Are ‘Certain’ To Sign Wonderkid Martin Odegaard

Real Madrid think they already have the wonderkid’s signature secured…
Real Madrid are confident they have secured a deal for Martin Odegaard, the 15-year-old wonderkid apparently being pursued by half of Europe’s major clubs.

Odegaard turns 16 next week, which will allow him to sign a professional contract. He has so far indicated a desire to stay in Norway with current club Stromsgodset, but Real Madrid are confident their impressive five year deal has changed the youngster’s mind, according to Marca.

As well as training with Liverpool, the youngster has also spent time at Real Madrid’s training ground at Valdebebas. The Spanish club are not taking anything for granted however – they remember all too well what happened with Neymar.

The Brazilian superstar – now one of the world’s best players and playing for Barcelona – had a trial at Real Madrid as a 15-year-old, but ended up going to their bitter rivals.

Madrid are determined not to let another wonderkid slip through their fingers, and will make the Norwegian an offer he can’t refuse.

Liverpool, the English club who have been linked with Odegaard most regularly, had the youngster training with them at Melwood over the last few days, and will be hoping that Brendan Rodger’s legendary persuasive powers have proved more effective than the riches and glory on offer at the Bernabeu.
