According to Sky Sports’ Italian journalist Manuele Baiocchini, the Serie A side want to send Marin back to west London in the upcoming transfer window before the 25-year-old is then loaned out to another club.

Viola coach Vincenzo Montella has been left unimpressed by the former Werder Bremen star and has since changed his formation so he has no further use for the winger.

Marin spent the previous season on loan with Spanish outfit Sevilla, whom he helped to win the Europa League. However, another spending spree over the summer saw him pushed out of Stamford Bridge to join La Viola.

Marin has only featured for the Italians in two league games this season, but has featured four times in the club’s Europa League campaign, where he has also scored two goals.
