The 29 year old looks set to leave the Parc des Princes and his Ligue 1 employers are ready to accept as little as £8m for the Argentine attacker as they look to secure a quick sale.

Though Inter Milan are keen it is believed that Lavezzi is keen on a move to the Premier League, leaving Liverpool in the driving seat to land the former Napoli man.

Inter have in fact already looked to Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski as an alternative and Brendan Rodgers would do well to complete the capture of versatile forward Lavezzi next month.

Though Lavezzi hasn’t proven a huge success since moving to the French capital there is no denying his talent as evidenced by the fact that he took part in six of Argentina’s seven World Cup finals games over the summer.

With Raheem Sterling being converted into a makeshift striker to make up for the failings of summer additions there is certainly scope for a wide-attacking addition, a role Lavezzi is perfectly suited to fill.
