The Gunners play the Saints on New Year’s day…
Arsenal are able to finally welcome back Theo Walcott to the matchday squad, but Danny Welbeck is a doubt for their match with Southampton on Friday, reports the club’s official website.

The North London club will have a tough game against the Saints, with Chelsea recently only managing to come away with a 1-1 draw from St. Mary’s. Arsene Wenger will be hoping that his side are able to better that result, because if they do they will overtake the South coast club in the league.
Walcott had been ruled out with a groin problem, which he was hit with shortly after returning from a long term knee injury that had ruled him out of the World Cup. Meanwhile, Welbeck is doubtful for the clash with a thigh problem that he picked up against West Ham.
Wenger also mentioned that he has been impressed with Francis Coquelin after the player’s start against the Hammers on Sunday. He also claimed that Lukas Podolski’s rumoured move to Inter Milan is a “joke”, apparently ruling it out for the next transfer window.
