Anfield side look to land Bernabeu star.
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema reportedly has his heart set on a move to Anfield according to the Daily Star.
This source claims that the 27 year old is unhappy with the criticism he receives from manager Carlo Ancelotti and with speculation rife that the Spanish giants want Colombian Radamel Falcao a move to Liverpool is apparently one Benzema is keen to complete.
Brendan Rodgers sees Benzema as a replacement for flop Mario Balotelli and his Liverpool side are ready to launch a £40m bid for the former Lyon man in the summer.
Talk of some sort of ‘falling-out’ between Ancelotti and Benzema is hard to believe given that the French international remains a first team regular, indeed the Italian has barely dropped the forward who in turn has been in fine form over the past 18 months.
Last term Benzema racked up 24 goals in all competitions and has netted 14 goals already this term.
A move to bring Benzema to Anfield seems fanciful to say the least, one would have to wonder why he would consider leaving an all conquering Real Madrid side for Liverpool given the club’s current standing.
Even if Liverpool were to secure a Champions League berth or 2015/16 such a move would still be a massive surprise.
