Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he intends to sign a new goalkeeper.
Liverpool’s top two stoppers – Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones – have both made high-profile errors this season and Rodgers concedes it could be time to recruit new blood.
“I think we need a goalkeeper,” Rodgers told reporters.
“We are obviously down [on numbers] and have got two young, inexperienced keepers behind Simon Mignolet, who has only just returned, so we need to assess that.”
Jones replaced Mignolet as Liverpool’s number one late last year, but he is currently out injured.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Chelsea’s Petr Cech.
