French giants keen to take midfielder away from Old Trafford.
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain are set to test Manchester United’s resolve by tabling a huge bid to sign midfielder Angel Di Maria at the end of the season, according to the Daily Star.
The Argentine star broke the club’s transfer record last summer when he made the move from Real Madrid in a £59.9m deal.
The French champions were in the running for his signature at the time and have not given up hope of bringing him to the Parc des Princes.
However, they could be set to try again this summer as coach Laurent Blanc’s position comes under scrutiny. PSG are currently fourth in the Ligue 1 standings and are in danger of giving up their crown.
The former France coach has also had to deal with disciplinary issues with Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi being fined and dropped from the team.
Di Maria has been identified as they ideal replacements for both players and the club will make him their top priority at the end of the season.
The Argentine had recently said that he would be open to a move to France ahead of the Ballon d’Or awards on Monday.
“Moving one day in Ligue 1? I do not know. I am very much in Manchester now.
“I am very happy, people welcomed me very well. We do not know what may happen one day.”
