Serie A giants hoping to beat Besiktas to the signing of Mohamed Salah.

Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah appears to be one of Europe’s most wanted men this January, with AS Roma the latest club to show an inrerest in signing the out-of-favour Stamford Bridge star, report the Mirror, although they face fierce competition from Turkish giants Besiktas for the player’s signature.

Salah has largely been used as a substitute by Jose Mourinho since he moved to the club from Swiss champions FC Basel in January, largely on the back of performances against Chelsea in the Champions League, but it still seems uncertain whether Mourinho will sanction his departure this month as the Egyptian international could still be needed for cover and squad depth.

If Chelsea do decide to Sell Salah, however, Italian giants AS Roma are now heading towards the top of the queue for his signature, with Rudi Garcia looking to strengthen his options at the Stadio Olimpico as they look to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title.

Garcia’s men will face competition from Turkish side Besiktas, however, with Slaven Bilic’s side also looking for reinforcements to boost their hopes of winning the title.
